You may create as many parenting time periods per day as you like, and the periods can be within a day or span multiple days (or even months). The only restriction on creating parenting time periods is that they can't overlap.
If you create a parenting time period that would overlap another period, when you save the event you'll be given the opportunity to merge the two events.
For example, let's say you have an existing parenting time period that runs from 7:30am to 10:00am and another one that runs from 11:00am to 6:00pm.
If you want to add a period that runs from 9:00am to 11:30am, the periods will overlap.
When this happens, OPTIMAL will show you a table of all of the periods that would overlap (in this case, just two), and will offer to merge or join the time periods for you.
If you choose to merge the events, OPTIMAL joins them together for you into a single, uninterrupted event.
If you don't want to merge the events, click the No, cancel and go back button to return to the previous screen.
Merging time periods won't affect any notes or event flags that you may have set. You can safely merge time periods without making any changes to your notes or event flags.
