How do I enter my parenting time in the Tracker? (viewed 6190 times)

Entering Parenting Time is quick and easy. They key thing to remember is that you only want to enter your actual parenting time. That is, only track time that the children are with you or under your care. This is important, so we'll say it again:

  • Only track time that the children are with you or under your care.
  • Do NOT enter any time that the children are with the other parent.
  • Do NOT enter any time that's in the future (don't schedule ahead in the Tracker).

The time you enter in the Tracker is automatically compared to the parenting plan schedule that you entered into the OPTIMAL Calendar.

To enter your parenting time, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Tracker icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen. This will take you to the Tracker Month View.
  2. From the Tracker Month View screen, click the Add button next to the day that your parenting time began.

The Add New Event screen appears, as shown below:

  3. Set the time and date that your parenting time started.

  4. Set the time and date that your parenting time ended.

Note: If your parenting time spans multiple days, show that by using different Start and Stop dates. Do not stop a visit at midnight and start another one the next day. Just use the Start and Stop Dates to cover the full range of dates that your parenting time spanned.

  5. Indicate the children who were present for this parenting time period by placing a checkmark in the box next to their name(s).

  6. If you want, record any Non-Parental time (optional).

  7. When making a new entry, you can also add some optional information, such as expenses, notes, etc by clicking the icon next to the "additional options" text. These notes or flags will be added to the very first day of the visit period. (You can add notes and other information to the other days in the visit period whenever you want.)

  8. To save the time record, click the Save this record button.

  9. A confirmation message is displayed when the record is saved. Click the Continue button to return to the Tracker screen.

NOTE: If your parenting time spans multiple days, show that by using different Start and Stop dates. There is no need to stop a visit at midnight and start another one the next day. Just use the Start and Stop Dates to cover the full range of dates that your parenting time spanned.
